Interest in Frontier Markets has increased over the last few years, prompting investors and issuers alike to find methods of investing in these markets. Given the general difficulty in trading shares due to restricted access and liquidity problems, exchange traded funds (ETFs) tend to be the best way for interested parties to add a degree of Frontier Market exposure to their portfolios.

Frontier Market News will focus primarily on ETFs that have a significant proportion of their holdings in Frontier Markets (there may me a few Emerging Market ETFs with a traceable amount of Frontier Market holdings, but these will not be considered). The tables below split the Frontier Market ETFs into three categories:
Global – these ETFs have holdings in multiple countries across the world in order to gain exposure across a wide variety of nations.
Regional – these ETFs usually allow exposure into a specific continent or region. They are not as wide ranging as global ETFs, but they are much more broad than country-specific ETFs.
Country-Specific – these ETFs focus on one particular country, allowing investors to pinpoint the exact nation that they want to increase their exposure to.

The tables also have Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) scores from MSCI and Sustainability scores from Morningstar (where applicable in both cases) for those who are interested in ESG investing.
